👋 Welcome

Android CarPlay Connect Awto is designed to keep your data securely on your phone. We do not run our own servers and do not collect accounts, names, or contact details.

📱 Data Stored Only On Your Device

  • Garage & Profile: Vehicles, optional vehicle photos/logos, OBD-II adapter settings, service history, mileage, and documents (license/insurance numbers, expiry dates, and photos).
  • App Data: Saved locations, offline routes, VIN lookups, AI Repair conversations, radio favorites, Local Music queue/playback position, and app settings.

Note: Uninstalling the app completely deletes this data. Vehicle-photo background removal runs entirely on-device using Google ML Kit.

🔐 Permissions & Why We Need Them

Permission Usage Reason
📍 Location Map, navigation, speedometer, speed-limit/camera alerts, local weather, and saving where you parked. Only used while the app is open.
📇 Contacts Shows your contacts in the dashboard Phone app so you can call them safely. Contacts never leave your device.
📶 Bluetooth (Nearby devices) Connects to your Bluetooth ELM327 OBD-II adapter. Wi-Fi adapters are reached directly on the adapter's own network; traffic never goes to the internet.
🎵 Music / Storage Optional. Lists and plays songs saved on your phone in Local Music. Files are only read to play them and show artwork; they are never uploaded, copied, or shared.
💬 Notification Access Optional. Controls the music app playing and shows/replies to incoming messages in the dashboard. Notifications are processed on-device and not stored.
🔔 Notifications Sends reminders for expiring documents, due maintenance, and shows music/radio playback controls.

🌐 Data Sent to Third Parties

To provide core features, the app sends the absolute minimum required data directly from your phone to these trusted services:

  • Maps & Routing: Map tiles, routing, and search (OpenFreeMap, Esri, OSRM, Photon/Komoot, Overpass, optionally TomTom) receive map area, coordinates, and search text.
  • Weather: (Open-Meteo or WeatherAPI.com) receives approximate coordinates.
  • VIN Decoding: (US NHTSA vPIC) receives the VIN you enter.
  • Internet Radio: (radio-browser.info) receives station requests.
  • AI Repair: (Google Gemini API) receives your questions and your vehicle's make, model, year, and mileage.
  • Advertising: (Google AdMob) for non-Premium users: device identifiers and usage data as described in Google's policies. Consent is requested where required by law (changeable in Settings → Privacy choices).
  • Purchases: (Google Play Billing) handles payments securely; we never see your payment details.

👶 Children's Privacy

This application is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
